This paper focuses on the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and evaluation of an HHO
generator for emission reduction for diesel engines and reducing fuel consumption. The
prototype acts as an additional fuel source, causing less diesel fuel to be burned, resulting
in less emission. The main components are the oxyhydrogen generator, power supply,
water storage/reservoir, and flashback arrestor. The oxyhydrogen production rate is tested
by collecting the gas with a prophylactic sheath and is timed for 1 minute. The researchers
conduct five trials, each with and without an Oxyhydrogen generator, to get a more accurate
result for computing the fuel efficiency at 1000 rpm and allowing it to run for 1 hour. The
testing result is done, and there is a total difference of 772.4 ml with a generator installed
and 947.4 ml without, so the total amount of the result and the efficiency to save for fuel
consumption if conducting our prototype at 1000 rpm for 1 hour is about 175 ml. And
particulate matter emissions with and without an HHO generator installed. Based on the
test conducted, the device can be called a success, for it has produced more than 0.3L/min
of HHO. It has also reduced fuel consumption at 1000 rpm to 12.87 ml/min. As for
emissions, there is a 0.67% drop in opacity. It gains a 4.20 total evaluation result as very
satisfactory. The evaluators are diesel engine operators with private vehicles and public
vehicle units, while the others are mechanics.
