The production of cement requires a significant amount of natural resources and energy, contributing to resource depletion and increased CO₂ emissions, which aggravate global warming and climate change. Simultaneously, the accumulation of agricultural waste, such as coffee husks, adds to environmental pollution. This study investigates the potential use of calcined robusta coffee husk ash (CHA) as a partial replacement for ordinary Portland cement (OPC) in paving block production. Coffee husks were calcined at 600°C for 3 hours using a muffle furnace. Paving blocks were produced with varying CHA replacement levels (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% by volume) and molded into 200 mm × 100 mm × 60 mm blocks. A total of 120 specimens were tested after curing periods of 7, 14, and 28 days to evaluate their physical properties (density and water absorption) and mechanical properties (compressive strength, flexural strength, and skid resistance) following respective standards. The results revealed that paving blocks with 5% CHA replacement demonstrated best performance, meeting the standards for compressive strength, flexural strength, and skid resistance, making it the most suitable mix design for this study.
