The system enhances the experience of online consumers with the help of an
interactive avatar, which the user can personalize to match their shape and size. By
choosing garments from different online clothing stores to embed in the system, users can
virtually try on the items through the avatar, resizing it in the process. This study focused
on developing a virtual fitting room using a progressive web application with a
recommendation system that the researchers used to provide outfit recommendations
tailored to each user according to the weather and events. The system also allows users to
mix and match various clothing items to visualize their complete outfits before purchasing.
However, the current system does not support virtual footwear or other accessories like
necklaces, earrings, and headwear, which may limit the overall visualization of the whole
outfit. The project aligns with UN SDG Goal 9 and Goal 12 by minimizing production
waste and carbon footprints from return shipping and improving the efficiency of online
shopping.
