The research addresses the difficulty students face in locating faculty members within the
Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) department on the third floor of the College of
Industrial Technology (CIT) at the Technological University of the Philippines. To solve
this, a real-time faculty attendance tracking and monitoring system using Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID) technology was developed. The system aims to accurately and
efficiently track faculty attendance and location within the CIT building. RFID was chosen
for its capability to uniquely identify and automatically track objects via radio signals. The
study focused on evaluating the system’s reliability, accuracy, and responsiveness through
three trials using 19 RFID cards each. Results showed a 100% success rate in readings,
with average system response times of 3.43, 3.21, and 3.89 seconds. User evaluations on
functionality, usability, and other criteria gave the system an overall rating of 4.72,
categorized as "excellent." Despite limitations such as cost and potential security issues,
the system proved to be effective, reliable, and suitable for real-time monitoring of faculty
presence in the EET department.
