| Summary, etc. |
Cloud computing technology is an in-demand computing power, database storage, applications, and other IT resources through a cloud services platform in the internet. Integrating this technology with systems that incorporates analytics will greatly help an institution in terms of decision-making. In an academic institution like the Technological University of the Philippines, gathering information about its alumni can help the institution determine how its graduates perform and identify their success indications. Graduate tracer information is important as a way of understanding the relevance and quality of programs offered by a University and the Labor market. To improve the process of gathering these data, the TUP Cloud Community for Alumni Association with data analytics was proposed. The purpose of this study was to develop an Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) system that can gather necessary information from the graduates of TUP. It integrates social networking capability to allow fellow graduates to communicate with each other. It also has data analytics and report generation to help the TUP officials in decision-making. This is essential to HEI and is generally one of the required factors during accreditation. Alumni participation is also required in the HEI and the proposed system would be a great help to the University in enhancing and increasing events participation. TUP Alumni Community Portal was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. The said method is very helpful in the quick and effective creation of the proposed system. The TUP Alumni Portal was built using a three-tier architecture and deployed through GoDaddy platform that supports both domain and hosting of the system. The TUP Alumni Community Portal was using a Content Management System called WordPress and integrated with Linkedln using its Linkedln API to extract data of TUP Alumni from the Linked In database. The study was evaluated by IT experts, TUP Officials, Faculty and Alumni. The results of both the Alpha test and Beta test using the US questionnaire reveals that the respondents are highly satisfied with the performance of the system with a verbal interpretation of Excellent. In the ISO 9126 evaluation. the results showed high acceptance of the respondents in terms o functionality, reliability, portability, efficiency, maintainability, usability, satisfaction and ease of use- Author's abstract-Author's Abstract |
