Inventory management is critical for food businesses to enable timely order fulfillment, minimize stockouts, and maintain ideal inventory levels. This research focused on the creation and implementation of an inventory management system for Good Source Food Products Trading, a leading pet food distribution company. The inventory management system encompassed a range of features and functionalities designed to streamline inventory control processes and enhance operational efficiency. Key functionalities included real-time inventory tracking, purchase order management, seamless sales order processing, comprehensive reporting and analytics, vendor management, and stock notification alert. The development process required tight coordination between the software development team and Good Source Food Products Trading to ensure the system met the company's specific requirements and concerns. The system was constructed with modern web-based technology and was intended to be adaptable, flexible, and user-friendly. The turnover of stocks, stock accuracy were assessed to analyze the system's impact on operational performance and inventory control. The efficiency of the inventory management system was assessed in this study using a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Preliminary studies showed that the inventory management system has a beneficial influence on Good Source Food Products Trading. The solution enabled real-time inventory tracking, which enhanced inventory accuracy and visibility, reduced stockouts, and maximized order fulfillment. The reporting and analytics feature of the system provided useful insights into inventory patterns, estimates of demand, and performance analysis. These insights facilitated proactive inventory planning, identified possible cost-saving opportunities, and improved supply chain management. The difficulties encountered during system development and implementation were described, including data migration, interaction with current systems, and user training. The findings implied that the application can easily be used and be adapted by any user obtaining an overall rating of 3.26 described as "Excellent" from the 10 respondents. The study added to the understanding of the significance of customized inventory management systems in the pet food business and the positive influence such system may have on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.--Author's Abstract.<br/><br/> |
