ABSTRACT

This thesis manuscript explored the development and evaluation of a mobile application designed to empower users in monitoring and managing their personal finances effectively. The research focused on understanding the challenges faced by individuals in financial management and how technology, specifically mobile apps, can assist in fostering better financial habits. The study involved user-centered design principles, feature development, usability testing, and user feedback analysis to create a comprehensive and user-friendly personal finance management application. The objective of creating a mobile application for personal financial management was to provide users with a convenient and accessible way to track and manage their finances. The application can help users keep track of their income, expenses, and savings, and provide insights and recommendations to help them achieve their financial goals. The application can provide users with an easy-to-use interface for tracking and categorizing their income, expenses, and savings, and provide reminders and notifications to help them stay on top of their finances. The application was subjected to evaluation for the functionality, reliability, portability, effectiveness, and efficiency. Result revealed that the evaluation gave a rating qualitatively described as “very good”, obtaining a grand weighted mean of 3.88. This result indicates that the mobile app developed passed the ISO 25010 criteria. |
