| Summary, etc. |
In this capstone project, we aimed to develop and implement a reservation management
system designed to optimize the reservation process and enhance delivery tracking
capabilities for CO.PMS. Our system addresses common challenges faced by logistics
companies in efficiently managing reservations and providing real-time tracking
information to clients. The overall goal is to design and develop a web-based system
featuring an online reservation process, capable of generating reservation reports to ease
the workload of manual report creation. To achieve this, we designed a web-based
application with features that organize reservations through tables, allowing
administrators to review and contact clients to finalize deals. Once the administrator
inputs the details, including the amount, into the system, the driver receives the
reservation, and the process continues until the package is delivered to the client's
specified location. Our system aims to improve customer satisfaction by providing
transparency and reliability in the delivery process while enhancing operational
efficiency for the logistics company. The implementation of this system demonstrates
significant improvements in reservation management and delivery tracking, leading to
better resource utilization and increased client trust. For development, we utilized
software tools such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Dart, XAMPP, Android Studio, Flutter,
Traccar, and Ngrok. We evaluated the system's operation using the ISO25010 criteria.
The evaluation and testing outcomes revealed high levels of functional suitability and
portability, confirming the system's success in achieving its goals and objectives, as well
as providing high user satisfaction. While the system proved effective, we identified areas
for improvement. These include using a domain capable of handling large databases,
creating more detailed reports with specific sorting capabilities, incorporating a client
interaction feature like a rating system for the company's service, and utilizing a
purchased API for accurate shipment location tracking. This research underscores the
need to improve reservation management systems in logistics companies to reduce
workload and enhance service, thereby building client trust through transparency. |
