The research developed a comprehensive Point-of-Sale (POS) system for the<br/>Technological University of the Philippines Manila Multi-Purpose Cooperative<br/>(TUPMMPC) to simplify payment management, sales tracking, and inventory control. The<br/>specific objectives include designing a network base POS system incorporating features<br/>such as billing transactions, payment processing, inventory management, and detailed sales<br/>reporting. The system was built using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Virtual<br/>Studio Code, CodeIgniter, and XAMPP. The study focused on the creation and deployment<br/>of a POS system specifically for TUPMMPC, facilitating efficient transaction processing<br/>and inventory management. It includes functionalities for managing user accounts,<br/>generating receipts, and producing sales reports with analytic dashboards. The system was<br/>designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of sales transactions and inventory<br/>monitoring, ensuring improved operational effectiveness for TUPMMPC. The<br/>development process will involve a lot of testing and improvement to ensure functional<br/>sustainability. The system's acceptability was assessed based on the ISO 25010 standard<br/>for software quality, which includes criteria such as functionality, performance efficiency,<br/>compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, and portability. The study's<br/>scope is limited to TUPMMPC's operational requirements, leveraging the available<br/>resources and expertise of the research team. Based on the evaluation made by the faculty<br/>members and IT specialists, the study findings indicate that the developed POS system<br/>introduces new features such as barcode scanner, automated barcode generator, and<br/>automatic inventory management, which significantly improve transaction efficiency. The<br/>system supports multiple user roles (cashier, admin, manager, and supervisor), each with<br/>specific responsibilities. Evaluations by TUPMMPC faculty and IT professionals rated the<br/>system as "Highly Acceptable" in terms of accuracy, usability, security, and reliability.<br/>Despite some areas for improvement, the system was deemed usable, dependable, and<br/>efficient. |
