The study, Development of Portable Kitchen Wastewater Oil Separator aims to provide a<br/>proper way of disposing of oil and grease that comes from the kitchen of food chains. Oil<br/>is one of the commonly used products nowadays. It is used generally on vehicles,<br/>engines, tool machinery, cooking, etc. But oil is also reportedly the main contributor<br/>when it comes to water pollution. Improper disposal of oil into land, drainage system,<br/>rivers, and other bodies of water can severely damage the environment. Based on studies,<br/>50-90 million liters of cooking oil is being wasted every year and if it is not disposed<br/>properly, it could cause oil pollution quite devastating. Wrong disposal of oil commonly<br/>happens at restaurants, food stalls, and other food related establishments. The device is<br/>capable of separating oil and grease from wastewater, to avoid the clogging of the pipes<br/>and to prevent the oil and grease from flowing straight to canals that may cause more<br/>problems. The prototype uses electricity to function. Portable Kitchen Wastewater Oil<br/>Separator is mainly composed of stainless steels and it has two main parts, the body and<br/>the disk skimmer that is being driven by a motor. This prototype is ideal for small or big<br/>restaurants to be installed. We conducted point-system survey for the prototype. Upon the<br/>survey, the result draws overall mean of 4.52 which means Highly Satisfying that<br/>interpretatively shows the efficiency of over-all performance of the prototype. |
