The common locker has physical lock and keys feature that is prone from misplacing the<br/>keys. The study, Development of Locker System with Biometrics and<br/>Authenticator aims to resolve this problem by using a fingerprint scanner and authenticator<br/>application. Fingerprint scanners are one of the security systems of biometrics. It<br/>authenticates the fingerprints of an individual in order to grant or deny access to a system.<br/>It was used to register the fingerprints of each owner of the locker. It also has an enhanced<br/>access feature that provides remote access for the unregistered users of the locker. The<br/>authenticator system provides QR code to each owner of the locker which after, owners<br/>must download the authorized AUTHY authenticator or any third-party authenticator<br/>application to scan the QR code which will be converted to a Time-based One-time<br/>Passwords (TOTP). The system was developed using Arduino Software for programming<br/>the microcontroller Arduino, Raspberry Pi Software for programming the microcontroller,<br/>Raspberry Pi. The system was evaluated by 20 evaluators from the Technological<br/>University of the Philippines – Manila which composed of Computer and Electrical<br/>Engineering Technology professors and students under the Electronics Engineering<br/>Technology using College of Industrial Technology evaluation instrument project<br/>acceptability and was rated with an overall mean of 4.69 with a descriptive rating of<br/>“Highly Acceptable”. This concludes that the Integrated Biometrics and Authenticator<br/>System of the Locker is excellent in terms of securing things. |
