The Philippines is an archipelago that consist of several shores and beaches. Our country<br/>is surrounded with bodies of water it makes that have many beaches. The Boracay island<br/>is one of the famous tourist spots in the Philippines that has a problem in waste<br/>management. The prototype is created to clean the shorelines and concrete pavement.<br/>Considering the fact that the Philippines has many beaches, our prototype is very useful,<br/>and it could be a part of a rehabilitation of beaches. The prototype does not use any fuels<br/>that is why it is so eco-friendly. With the use of pushing method, the user can operate the<br/>prototype. It is made of series two stainless, square tube, round tube, rectangular bar for<br/>the body and the collector is made of steel tines. The materials for conveyor are rubber belt<br/>with chains and angular bar, and for the container, it is made of stainless-steel wire mesh.<br/>The collapsible trash collector can collect 10 kilos of trash depends of the quantity of trash.<br/>It was evaluated to determine its acceptability in terms of safety, functionality, durability,<br/>workability, aesthetic and economy. The evaluators were composed of fifteen professionals<br/>and fifteen students. Based on the result of the evaluation, it obtained an overall mean of<br/>4.43, which has an equivalent descriptive rating of “Very Acceptable”. This proves that the<br/>prototype achieves its function in attaining the collecting of waste. |
