The Development of Adjustable Magnetic Clamp with Pick-Up Handle aimed at helping<br/>the welder or fabricator to easily tack weld by securely holding the pieces of metals in<br/>various angles required prior to welding. The difficulty in the preparation for the tacking<br/>process may be avoided through the use of a clamping device to secure the materials in<br/>place before tacking. Without the aid of a clamping device, the fabrication would be very<br/>difficult and may lead to a long number of fabrication hours. The device also functions as<br/>a magnetic pick-up that can be used also for lifting pieces of metals because it has an<br/>attachable handle. The materials used in the fabrication of the project were aluminium<br/>flat bar, aluminium sheet, square bar, and various sizes and lengths of bolts and nuts,<br/>angle indicator and neodymium magnet. The test results show that the adjustable<br/>magnetic clamp with pick-up handle is a convenient and efficient device to the user<br/>because it helps securely holding the pieces of metals in various angles required prior to<br/>welding. The project was evaluated by 25 evaluators composed of MET, EET students,<br/>and TUP professors. Based on the results, the adjustable magnetic clamp with pick-up<br/>handle was rated with overall mean of 4.55 with a descriptive rating of “Highly<br/>Acceptable.” This signifies that the device is useful to all welders, fabricators and<br/>welding trainees who will use it. However, it is recommended that the project be<br/>subjected to further testing and improvement. |
