Building Information Modeling (BIM) adoption in the Philippines remains limited<br/>due to high software costs, a shortage of skilled BIM operators, and reliance on traditional<br/>tools like AutoCAD and MS Excel. Despite its transformative potential, BIM has yet to<br/>gain widespread appreciation among academicians and practitioners in the construction<br/>industry. This study demonstrates the application of 5D BIM in project management,<br/>focusing on the Second Ayala Bridge Construction Project. A diagnostic research design<br/>was employed to investigate challenges and propose solutions. Bentley Applications,<br/>including OpenBridge Modeler for 3D modeling, iTwin Synchronizer as a cloud-based<br/>construction management platform, and Synchro 4D Pro for 4D and 5D modeling, were<br/>utilized. Using the 5D BIM model and data from JICA’s feasibility study, the study<br/>produced various deliverables, including a clash-free model, automated drawings,<br/>scheduling, Gantt charts, Planned Value Analysis (PVA), construction simulations,<br/>dynamic reports, model-based Quantity Takeoff (QTO), and cost estimates. The findings<br/>demonstrated BIM's ability to deliver significant advantages in construction project<br/>management, such as enhanced accuracy, improved scheduling, and streamlined processes.<br/>These results underline the value of adopting BIM in the Philippine construction industry.<br/>However, further exploration and studies are recommended to maximize its potential and<br/>address existing barriers to implementation. By integrating BIM into project management<br/>practices, the construction industry in the Philippines can improve efficiency, reduce costs,<br/>and enhance project outcomes.<br/>Keywords: Building Information Modeling, 5D BIM, Project Management, Bridge<br/>Construction, Philippines |
