The study, Development of Automated Flood Level Warning Device with SMS (AFLWD<br/>SMS Notification) Notification aims to provide accurate flood level detection in real time<br/>by utilizing SMS alerts and horn alarm system that helps authorized person and residents<br/>in order to inform and receive information immediately regarding the level of flood and<br/>more importantly, to address the lack of system in the community. The system was<br/>developed using Arduino Atmega2560 for controlling, handling, interfacing, parallel<br/>program, and multitasking. With the use of major components, the project was successfully<br/>developed. As a result of using float sensor, that detects the accurate level of flood water,<br/>an indicator that displays the current flood level, which is used to identify flood water<br/>levels, upon reaching a highly critical level of water, the alarm will sound, Global System<br/>Communication SIM800L (GSM) used to send a text message regarding the level of flood,<br/>SD card that saved the information about the previous data of flood level. The whole<br/>system is powered by a solar panel, a battery and charge controller to control the battery<br/>by overheating or the test result showed that the system is able to detect the flood water<br/>level using a floating sensor with the combination of SMS that sent a text message in each<br/>level using GSM SIM800L. When it finally reaches the 4 level sensor, the minor level (10<br/>inches), moderate (19 inches), critical level (37 inches) and highly critical level (45 inches).<br/>The project will be installed at Barangay Core Housing Zone 7 of Magsaysay Lopez,<br/>Quezon. The system was evaluated by 25 evaluators composed of Municipal Disaster Risk<br/>Reduction Management Office Staff (MDRRMO), Brgy. Officials, TUP instructor, TUP<br/>Lopez students, and respondents from Brgy. Magsaysay Lopez, Quezon and was rated with<br/>an overall mean of 4.39 with the descriptive rating of “ Very acceptable”. This shows that<br/>the Automated Flood Level Warning Device with SMS Notification is very useful when<br/>dealing with flood and hazardous location when flooding occurs.<br/><br/>Keywords: SMS, notification, SMS notification, flood, level, flood level, warning,<br/>device, warning device, development, automated. |
