Summary, etc. The study, Development of Automated Shoe Finding Assistant, is a prototype that
automatically measures the customer's foot length and identifies its foot type. It aims to
help people who has a hard time picking shoes in a store. The system lessens the hassle of
going around the store because of it being able to measure the customer's foot
measurement and type automatically. The obtained foot measurement and type are now
used to recommend the shoe style that will be comfortable for their feet. The system is
limited to a length of Seven inches minimum up to twelve inches maximum. The foot
type has three types consists of normal, flat and high arc. It also has a shoe shop for the
customer to pick the shoes they want and order from the device which the device will
print the customer's transaction. The receipt has the shoes reference number, name and
total amount of purchase. The system can only run on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The
hardware was fabricated with the use of Arduino Uno microcontroller, Raspberry Pi 3
Model B and a Seven-inch LCD. The functionality and reliability of the hardware and
software were tested and yielded to the expected outcome. Fourteen respondents
composed of professors, student-athletes, and students evaluated the system. The overall
mean obtained is 4.74, which is described as "Excellent". This means that the system can
automatically measure the customer's foot and type and recommend shoes that fit the type
of foot the customer has.
