The entrepreneurial landscape within universities is evolving rapidly, with student-run<br/>businesses (SRBs) and campus-based enterprises playing a critical role in fostering<br/>innovation and financial independence for students involved. At the Technological<br/>University of the Philippines – Manila campus (TUPM), despite the increasing number of<br/>buy and sell transactions, the marketplace remains disorganized and lacks proper security<br/>measures. This presents challenges, such as difficulty in discovering products, unreliable<br/>service, and put consumers at risk of scams. Observations from Facebook Group<br/>communities like "TUP COMMUNITY" highlight these issues where students conduct<br/>business in an unofficial and broad-scoped environment. To address these concerns, this<br/><br/>study proposes the development of CAMPUS COMMERCE, a secure, centralized e-<br/>commerce platform tailored for the TUPM community. The project is designed as a "one-<br/>stop shop" that aligns with the TUP Research and Development Agenda, supporting the<br/><br/>objectives of a Smart University. The development process was conducted using web<br/>technologies such as React.js, Node.js, Python Django, and PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS<br/>EC2. For the deployment, GitHub and Hostinger to deliver the system to the internet. The<br/>web application was evaluated using the ISO 25010 software quality model and was rated<br/>as “Highly Acceptable” with an overall average of “4.53” in terms of functional suitability,<br/>performance efficiency, usability, reliability, security, and maintainability. This platform<br/>aims to create a seamless, organized marketplace that empowers student entrepreneurs and<br/>campus-based businesses while ensuring transparency, security, and collaboration. |
