Summary, etc. The study, Effects of Pineapple Leaves Fiber as Reinforcement to Royal Poinciana Pod-<br/>Isocyanate Board, aims to improve the physical and mechanical test results of the<br/><br/>previous research, Development of Royal Poinciana Pod-Isocyanate Board, while<br/>utilizing pineapple leaves wastes as reinforcement. The last study failed to meet PNS<br/>Specification for type 150 on Water Absorption, Thickness Swelling, Modulus of<br/>Rupture, Face Screw Holding Test and Internal Bond Test. The mix designs of this study<br/>are basing from the two (2) mix designs that had the best results of the previous research,<br/>97:3 and 95:5, and reinforcing both designs with 5%, 10% and 15% of Pineapple Leaves<br/>Fiber. The project underwent significant processes such as raw material collection, fiber<br/>extraction, drying, shredding, sieving, mixing, molding, hot pressing, curing, testing and<br/>evaluation to determine the acceptability of the board. Based on the physical test results,<br/>only one mix design met the PNS for Water Absorption which is 27.82% while its<br/>Thickness Swelling is 21.55% which did not pass the PNS as well as all the other mix<br/>designs. For mechanical test results, none from the mix designs met the PNS for Modulus<br/>of Rupture while all mix designs met the PNS for Face Screw Holding Test and Internal<br/>Bond Test with best results of 77.12kg/cm2 and 8.33kg/cm2 accordingly. With an<br/>average mean of 4.19 from 30 respondents, the project was rated descriptively as “Very<br/>Acceptable.” Overall, the results from all mix designs showed improvement compared to<br/>the previous study.
