One of the problems the community deals with is the weather changes in<br/>the Philippines. The researchers conducted interviews with the barangay officials<br/>of Barangay Sampaloc, Parañaque and gathered data and insights that resulted<br/>in the design and development of our prototype foldable canopy. The prototype<br/>device is designed to provide a large space with natural ventilation, offering shelter<br/>and a comfortable space for the community to stay in. The engineering of the<br/>canopy makes it portable, easy to assemble, and can store anywhere anytime.<br/>The canopy can be used for various projects or occasions, such as nightwatches,<br/>vendors, charity events, birthdays, emergency shelter and more. The fabrication<br/>of the frame and canopy lasted 3 months before testing and evaluation. The<br/>researchers tested the capabilities of TINUPY foldable canopy for 2 weeks,<br/>constant assembling, disassembling, and transporting of the canopy in narrow and<br/>rough roads. By utilizing quantitative methods, the researchers handed out survey<br/>forms to random 35 respondents within Barangay Sampaloc, Parañaque City. The<br/>evaluated results proved that TINUPY foldable canopy is aesthetically designed<br/>for the use of the community, made primarily to combat the tropical climate and<br/>light to moderate rainfalls, functional and mobile, is economical and safe to use.<br/>To conclude, TINUPY is optimized for its design and integration of other<br/>mechanisms for the convenience of the community for outdoor shelter and<br/>activities. |
