In this study, various problems associated with harvesting and threshing of<br/>agricultural food grains by local farmers in the Philippines were identified.<br/><br/>The aim of the project is to design a low-cost, small-scale soybean combined<br/>harvester for agrarian production using locally available materials at affordable price; to<br/>ensure improved performance at reasonable maintenance cost for the use of farmers in the<br/>Philippines.<br/><br/>Calculations for the design of each component; as well as their power<br/>requirements to determine the engine specifications were carried out to ensure an optimal<br/>performance.<br/><br/>The output of the research came up to the design and fabrication of a small-scale<br/>soybean combined harvester which became a smaller version of the large capital-intensive<br/>harvester for the farmers who plant on their small designated lots in some developing<br/>rural areas in the Philippines. |
