The Learning Resources Center (LRC) of the College of Liberal Arts – TUP Manila<br/>previously relied on manual processes in managing book cataloging, media circulation, and<br/>attendance tracking. These practices often resulted in inefficiencies and overload for the<br/>CLA LRC Coordinator. The general objective of this study was the development of a<br/>system entitled “A Web-Based System for Book Cataloging, Media Circulation, and<br/>Attendance Tracking Using QR Codes in the Learning Resources Center of the College of<br/>Liberal Arts – TUP Manila.” Using QR codes in the LRC for attendance tracking and<br/>circulation, the CLA of TUP Manila automated core LRC operations through the system.<br/>Just like cataloging books through customizable departments and topics, the system also<br/>allows instructors to track student attendance using QR codes, along with monitoring<br/>borrowed materials. Agile methodology was the chosen methodology, supported by<br/>interviews that included feedback from the CLA LRC Coordinator. The system was<br/>evaluated using ISO 25010 software quality standards through user surveys, expert<br/>reviews, and functionality testing. The results showed that the system obtained a grand<br/><br/>weighted mean of 3.18 described as “Very Acceptable” based on evaluations from TUP-<br/>Manila librarians, CLA students and faculty, and IT professionals. The developed system<br/><br/>streamlined CLA LRC operations, reduced manual workload, and improved access for the<br/>students and faculty. |
