Summary, etc. This study explores the design, optimization, and stabilization of an algal biophotovoltaic<br/>(BPV) cell array utilizing Chlorella vulgaris for small-scale renewable energy generation.<br/>BPV cells harness electrons produced during photosynthesis and convert them into electrical<br/>energy through redox reactions. The research begins with the development of a<br/>photobioreactor designed to cultivate Chlorella vulgaris under controlled conditions,<br/>optimizing growth through variations in inoculum density, pH, light intensity, temperature,<br/>and nutrient concentration. The BPV system is further enhanced by identifying ideal algae<br/>concentrations, container configurations, and electrode materials to improve electron<br/>transfer efficiency. Various light arrangements and cell placements are tested to maximize<br/>energy capture. Although the system is designed with a target output of twenty (20) watts,<br/>the development is limited to a lower-power prototype, constrained by the available<br/>timeframe and resources, to demonstrate the viability of the proposed design. Performance<br/>is evaluated through measurements of open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, and total<br/>power generated. To stabilize energy delivery, a solar charge controller is integrated for<br/>voltage regulation and storage support. Results show that optimizing growth and system<br/>parameters enhances power output and consistency. This study offers a viable framework for<br/>future scalable BPV systems and highlights the potential of algae-based energy technologies<br/>as a sustainable alternative for off-grid and environmentally conscious applications.
