The increasing awareness of environmental impact and health risks<br/>associated with conventional chemical-based cleaning agents, there is a demand for<br/>natural alternatives. This approach offers students hands-on experience with<br/>sustainable practices, allowing them to understand the benefits of it. The main<br/>objective of this designed based embedded mixed method is to assess the<br/>effectiveness and practicality of using Lime Peels (Citrus aurantiifolia) and Gumamela<br/>Flowers (Hibiscus rosa-sinens) as a natural alternative for dishwashing liquid, this<br/>includes evaluating the cleaning efficiency, antibacterial properties, and ability to cut<br/>grease compared to conventional dishwashing liquid.<br/>This study collected data through laboratory testing that revealed the<br/>effectiveness of alternative dishwashing liquid, additional data were gathered from<br/>FSM students interview and survey regarding their preference, assessing the aspect<br/>in ease of preparation, and perceived environmental benefits. The analysis revealed<br/>that FSM students are willing to switch to alternative natural ingredients rather than<br/>using conventional dishwashing liquids. The findings suggest the utilization of Lime<br/>peels and Gumamela flowers as an alternative dishwashing liquid. Furthermore, it<br/>potentially inspires further research into natural cleaning alternatives. |
