Summary, etc. FSM students struggle with meal planning due to overly complex existing<br/>guides. This study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate MealWiz, a meal<br/>planning app to enhance students’ practical understanding. It involved 40<br/>students, four teachers, and two experts, using random and convenient sampling<br/>in a Design-Based Research within a mixed-method sequential exploratory<br/>design. Data collection included focus groups, interviews, and questionnaires. In<br/>Phase 1, teaching challenges and students’ needs—like nutrition, personalization,<br/>and dietary guidance—were identified. Phase 2 showed high satisfaction with<br/>MealWiz’s UI/UX, with minor suggestions for interactivity. In Phase 3, experts<br/>confirmed strong alignment with learning outcomes (x̄ 4.83), noting minor<br/>improvements. Phase 4 synthesized design principles based on the SOLO<br/>Taxonomy to support practical understanding.<br/>In conclusion, MealWiz was positively received and improved students’<br/>meal planning skills, supporting the integration of user-centered digital tools in<br/>FSM education.
