Marinduque, known as the “Heart of the Philippines,” is also the Butterfly<br/>Capital of the country, hosting six hundred (600) butterfly species and contributing<br/>70% of the country’s butterfly exports. The province is also recognized for its<br/>diverse food products and agricultural commodities. Despite this, Marinduque<br/>remains economically underdeveloped and faces challenges in providing support<br/>for more local jobs and facilities for the butterfly industry.<br/><br/>This study aimed to strengthen the butterfly industry's competitive edge in<br/>the province by providing facilities that improve the efficiency of business activities<br/>and conservation initiatives. Furthermore, it seeks to utilize the industry's potential<br/>to drive economic development in related sectors, such as tourism and micro,<br/>small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). To achieve this, the researchers<br/>gathered data through interviews, surveys, books, journals, and online articles.<br/><br/>As a result, the key challenges will be addressed, and the proposed project<br/>will create sustainable opportunities for the butterfly industry, MSMEs, and local<br/>communities, while contributing to the growth of Marinduque Province. |
