The purpose of proposed Resource and Livelihood Training Center for Physically Challenged Persons in Bataan is specifically designed to support PWDs in the province of Bataan. This study assesses challenges, limitations, and gaps faced by physically challenged individuals in gaining access to employment, skills training, and inclusive facilities. Through research processes, including with input gathered via key stakeholders, the study identifies the urgent need for a dedicated facility that promotes empowerment, self-sufficiency, and social inclusion among PWDs. The researchers aim to address the socio-economic barriers affecting PWDs by designing an accessible and functional center that integrates livelihood training, rehabilitation services, and community support. The center serves as a response to the lack of local infrastructure and government programs targeting this vulnerable sector. This study is primarily guided by data from the PDAO and various government planning frameworks including the RA 7277. An evaluation is conducted on the study site in Bataan for its potential in hosting the proposed facility, based on accessibility, proximity to resources, and community needs. The researchers also analyze the projected impact of the proposed center on local employment, social participation, and the overall well-being of PWDs. Findings show that the lack of proper facilities and livelihood opportunities significantly hinders the integration of PWDs into society. Thus, this proposal aims to create an inclusive built environment that fosters equal opportunity and long-term development for physically challenged individuals in Bataan. |
