The researchers encountered significant challenges with the current functionality and efficiency of modular office tables. These issues led to the development of "FLEXIDESK: A Three-Piece Modular Office Table for the Admin Area of the Learning Resource Center." This project aims to address space constraints and suitability issues within the admin area. The primary goal of the FLEXIDESK design is to maximize the use of small spaces while prioritizing the end user's comfort. The design includes essential components such as the table and storage, which are particularly significant for faculty members using this modular office table. The solution is grounded in ergonomic principles, as outlined in modular furniture design guidelines, and explores innovative interactions between users and the furniture.<br/>This study developed a three-piece integrated design approach. The final solution identifies various possibilities for maximizing efficiency in limited<br/>workstation spaces, ultimately providing a better workspace and more convenient area for end users. In conclusion, FLEXIDESK addresses the issues of insufficient and cramped workstations for admin areas, it also indicates that its aesthetic design aligns well with TUP's visual standards. It confirms that FLEXIDESK's criteria meets through actual testing and surveying the Project's functionality (4.34), safety(4.41), accessibility(4.55), durability(4.44), and aesthetics 4.62) with an overall mean of 4.47 that is still deemed Acceptable and satisfactory to the end-users.<br/> |
