This study is primarily focused on the improved functionality of an existing projector by equipping it with a computing capability that processes commands like a computer. This study developed a projector which is self-powered and can sustain a functionality for up to two (2) hours of continuous operation. It has a voice-to-text function where the user's voice is processed and converted into text as displayed real-time on the screen. Such function is internet reliant as it processes related resources in an online platform. This was made possible through the installation of a Linux Ubuntu operating system and an application program that processes the users' hand gestures captured by an action camera and voice commands through a wireless microphone. The smart projector can recognize four (4) hand gesture commands and eleven (11) voice commands. Hand gestures commands can be accessed using a Microsoft PowerPoint or OpenOffice Impress computer application. Based on the results of the study, it was established that the system's response has an average speed rate of one (1) second for a given hand gesture command. On the other hand, the speed varies for voice commands depending on the user's distance from the projector (i.e., max. of 10 feet away), internet connectivity, and noise level of the environment. The performance of the smart projector in terms of characteristics, efficiency, freedom from risk, and context coverage appears to be acceptable as indicated by the expert's evaluation obtaining a mean rating of 3.24. In addition, the effectiveness of the system and satisfaction on its use was rated highly acceptable (4.3) by the end-users, sales and marketing personnel, and academic personnel. In general, the respondents rated the quality of the smart projector highly acceptable with a mean rating of
