Dissertation note: College of Science -- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Technological University of the Philippines, 2023. Abstract: This thesis capstone project presents the development and implementation of an intranet-based payroll management system for Caritas Health Shield. The system aims to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure accuracy in managing employee compensation. Four primary objectives guided this project: (1) designing and developing a user-friendly intranet portal for centralized payroll tasks and information, (2) automating payroll calculations, deductions, and disbursements while adhering to labor laws and company policies, (3) providing borrowers with the flexibility to choose their desired repayment duration through a loan application process tailored to their preferred monthly payment terms, and (4) accurately applying leave benefits to promote personal growth and organizational harmony. The system incorporates employee self-service functionalities, automated payroll processing, and robust data security measures. Modern web development tools and technologies were employed during the development process, and rigorous testing and evaluation procedures were conducted to assess system effectiveness and performance. The results demonstrate significant improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and user satisfaction compared to manual processes. The intranet payroll management system successfully reduces processing time, minimizes errors, and increases productivity within Caritas Health Shield, contributing to effective payroll management.--Author's Abstract.
