Dissertation note: College of Science -- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Technological University of the Philippines, 2023. Abstract: Traverse Car Rental system is designed to cater to the needs of adventurous travelers seeking seamless transportation solutions during their journeys. This system enhances the overall rental experience for customers to maximize the utilization of available resources. The study titled "Development of Traverse: A Web-Based Car Rental System" introduced a new system that can help admins, tourists, travelers, and even car owners. Administrators will be the middleman for both clients and help each other to verify their accounts. Tourists and travelers can view all the available cars posted by the car owners through their personal accounts and to car owners, this system is a side business. Car Owners can add a specific type of vehicle according to the terms and conditions. Most of the common cars are hatchbacks, coupes, and SUVs. The system utilized a Global Positioning System tracker to help the car owners to track the vehicles rented for security. Active tracking devices transmit data in near-real time and transmit data to Global System for Mobile Communications networks using satellite networks and signals and Arduino for the microcontroller to integrate. The development of the Traverse Car Rental system followed the waterfall methodology, providing a structured approach encompassing sequential phases such as requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment. This methodology ensured a systematic and thorough development process. Based on the study's success and outcomes, managing the resources of the users will become easier to set up and more productive. While in testing, the result showed the system is functional and usable obtaining a grand weighted mean of 3.68 described as "Highly Acceptable" from fifty (50) respondents. The System is designed to provide seamless travel experiences for adventurers, offering a diverse fleet of vehicles, flexible rental options, convenient pickup and return processes, and reliable customer support.--Author's Abstract.
