The study, development of cylindrical five-gallon PET bottle cleaning machine, aims
to provide faster and efficient washing, bleaching, and drying of pet bottles before re-
filling it with liquid substances such as water, solutions and even formulated
powders.Pet bottle container washing machines are mainly used by numerous types of
businesses like water refilling stations and beverage manufacturers. Most water
refilling stationstend to clean their pet bottles the traditional way through manual
washing which exposes the pet bottles with unwanted contaminants if not washed
thoroughly on a regular basis. Therefore, washing of pet bottles before and after use is
necessary for water refilling stations to avoid unnecessary contaminants and harmful
bacteria that may affect the quality of water to be filled-in the pet bottle. In the long run,
water filling stations may economically benefit from an automated cleaning process
(easy-to-operate) and the quality of refilled water is maintained consistently and safe
from harmful bacteria and unnecessary contaminants. The prototype was evaluated by
27 respondents This paper provides findings that the prototype cylindrical five-gallon
PET bottle cleaning machine, as designed, can be used in cleaning the inner and outer
part of the PET container in a specific time given with less consumption of water. The
prototype machinewas tested through a series of trials of cleaning cycle and the refilled
water was subjected for microbial tests from a registered water testing laboratory.
