Dissertation note: College of Industrial Technology .-- Bachelor of Technology major in Automotive Engineering Technology: Technological University of the Philippines, 2023. Summary: The purpose of this Study, Development of Brake Pads Setting Tool, is to lessen the service time in replacing worn-out brake pads. This tool serves as a pushing mechanism to push back the protruded brake Piston to give space for installing thicker new pads. The tool design is made from recycled leaf spring scrap, which is economical, durable, and easy to fabricate. CAD is an instrument in lay-outing the design that carefully measures the actual structure of the Brake Caliper Assembly. The test result expressed effectiveness in less consuming times considering the safety of individuals and parts themselves. The technical trials were done in two vehicles. First is the 2015 Isuzu mu- x average of 41 seconds on three trials and second is the 2017 Suzuki Dzire average of 17 seconds. This tool structure has no issue on fitness in a different brand of a vehicle with having a front caliper brake system. Eight Practice Auto Mechanic Technician evaluated it from Isuzu Dealers rated 4.9 highly acceptance on descriptive rating.
