Dissertation note: College of Industrial Technology .-- Bachelor of Engineering Technology major in Construction Technology: Technological University of the Philippines, 2023. Summary: This study aims to develop a roof tile with facemask/synthetic fiber to determine whether it improves concrete roof tile's physical and mechanical properties. This study involves collecting used masks, sanitizing, shredding, and mixing them to make concrete roof tiles Cement, sand, water, oxide colors, and facemasks was utilized and enhanced the substances had to manufacture the roof tile. The face mask was cleaned first by washing it because of its toxic waste and safety purposes. The researchers shredded the facemask with the size of 2mm to 3mm. The mixture was poured into a molder with a size of 420 mm in length, 330 mm in width, 56 mm in depth, and a thickness of 30 mm. The last process is to remove the roof tile in the molder. The ratio of roof tile mixture is 1:2 for cement and aggregates with added 0%, 3%, and 7% of shredded facemasks. The researchers conducted tests such as a water absorption test, transverse strength test (3 pt. static bending), and face screw test based on ASTM. The test result showed that the waste facemask/synthetic fiber improved concrete roof tiles' physical and mechanical properties. The prototype was evaluated by 15 evaluators of licensed civil engineers, civil engineering students, and TUP professors. The prototype received a "Very Acceptable" descriptive grade and an overall rating of 4.13.
