Dissertation note: College of Architecture and Fine Arts. -- Masters in Graphics Technology : Technological University of the Philippines, Summary: The design and development of sandals utilizing corn husk material as a primary innovation offer a unique approach to footwear for various demographics, including ladies, men, and children. Men and boys can enjoy casual dress sandals, while the ladies' version has a slip-on wedge style. The girls' choice is a beautiful pair of gladiator sandals. These shoes are distinguished by their elaborate corn husk macrame and Inabel fabric uppers. The insole is composed of tough canvas, and the outsole is TPR. To evaluate the acceptability of these sandals in terms of their aesthetic design, functionality, quality, safety, economy, and environmental issues, this study makes use of current prototype evaluation standards. Stakeholders, such as student in the field of art, industry designer, instructor in the Fine Arts, shoe manufacturer, industry employed, and entrepreneurs who may end up buying these ground-breaking sandals, were involved in the review to guarantee it was thorough. An emphasis on those who value sustainability, the preservation of indigenous culture, and environmental awareness guided the conceptualization and production of the sandals. This study intends to show how performance, design, and mobility of footwear made of corn husks are all functional. The examination of the prototype's outcomes showed that stakeholders gave it very high marks. The "Design and Development of Sandals Using Corn Husk Material: An Innovation" was strongly agreed, especially in the areas of aesthetic, functionality, economy, and environment criterion. The prototype also received an excellent mark for its quality and safety. This study highlights the opportunity for novel, environmentally friendly materials, like corn husk, to be successfully incorporated into apparel and footwear. The response from stakeholders has been overwhelmingly favorable, underscoring the marketability of such designs and opening the door for the creation of additional environmentally friendly and culturally relevant footwear solutions.
