This study presents a web-based academic portal for Southville International School affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU) containing a set of functions, which allows its stakeholders to access key information and services online. Consolidating information such as class schedules, student grades, faculty evaluation, school calendar and directory; and being able to perform transactions like IT service ticket requests, leave application, facilities reservation and grades encoding online could be beneficial to the organization in building a culture of efficiency and productivity, therefore, satisfying its stakeholders.
The web application was designed while applying the Agile Methodology with Scrum.
PHP Code Igniter Framework was used to program the application. Upon completion of
the system modules, the website was hosted online using the address
https://sisfuportal.com, which commenced the testing and evaluation phases of the
project. During the testing phase, 60 stakeholders examined the system across 41 test
cases distributed under three main parameters: functionality, accuracy, and portability.
The confusion matrix was applied to the accuracy test results which yielded an accuracy
and precision of 1, or equivalent to 100%. Interpreting the test results, it may be stated
that users can be provided a functional system with accurate modules and information.
Meanwhile, the evaluation procedure, which was participated by 83 respondents resulted
to an overall mean score of 4.59, which translates to a descriptive rating of Excellent.
This implies that the web application successfully serves its purpose to provide key
information and services to the institution’s stakeholders. Together with these, various
recommendations were made to enhance the project.
