The traditional method of preparing Ube Halaya. A Filipino delicacy made from
purple yam is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and physically demanding. This study
presents the design and fabrication of a semi-automated grinder with an adjustable-speed
mixer specifically developed to enhance the efficiency, safety, and consistency in the
production of Ube Halaya. The project aims to reduce manual labor and optimize the
cooking process by incorporating mechanical grinding and adjustable-speed mixing
capabilities, accompanied by a heating element using induction technology. This process
of cooking the Ube Halaya undergoes grinding first and it is then transferred to the pot
where the mixing will begin. This reduces the strain and the difficulties in mixing,
especially when the Ube gets thicker as it gets close to being cooked. This will machine is
a Semi-Automated Grinder and Mixer with Adjustable Speeds for Ube Halaya, it still has
some manual work to do such as pre-boiling the Raw Ube at the beginning.
