The research Ligtas Santoleño: An Advertising Campaign for the Creation of
Barangay Santolan's Offline Mobile Application Addressing Disaster Awareness and Response
explores the use of interactive digital media to promote community-based disaster
preparedness in Barangay Santolan, Pasig City. Anchored in Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management (DRRM) principles, the study developed and launched an offline mobile
application tailored for residents, featuring emergency checklists, a preparedness calendar,
Tagalog first aid guides, disaster trivia, interactive quizzes, ranks, alert guides, local maps, and
contact directories. Conducted through a five-month campaign that included pre- and
post-intervention surveys, a disaster preparedness seminar, and ongoing community
interaction via app-based activities, the study recorded a significant improvement in disaster
awareness, especially in areas with limited internet access. Survey results revealed high user
satisfaction due to the app’s ease of use, localized and relevant content, and offline
functionality. The booth setup and seminar also contributed to stronger community
engagement and knowledge retention. Supporting existing literature on the effectiveness of
mobile platforms in disaster education, the study highlights the importance of accessibility,
technology integration, and cultural sensitivity, positioning Ligtas Santoleño as a replicable
model for local disaster education and community empowerment.
