Dissertation note: College of Industrial Technology..- Bachelor of Engineering Technology Major in Electrical Engineering Technology: Technological University of the Philippines, 2026. Summary: In order to provide a sustainable transportation option for rural communities in the Philippines that are close to railways, this study presents the development of a Hybrid PNR track trolley. These communities typically rely on manually operated or fuel- powered "skits," which are expensive, ineffective, and harmful to the environment because of their high carbon emissions and short operating range. In order to overcome these problems, the prototype makes use of a 48 V 1000 W electric motor that is backed by three 200 W solar panels via a charge controller and a 48 V 70 Ah LiFePO4 battery. Conceptual design, material selection, frame construction, electrical component integration, and testing under varied loads and ambient conditions were all part of its development. The results shown that while solar assistance prolongs battery life during daylight operation, the trolley functions dependably with less human effort. While solar- assisted operation increased efficiency by lowering the discharge rate and extending travel range despite voltage fluctuations brought on by fluctuating sunlight and load demand, battery voltage consistently decreased as distance increased across all tests, confirming a direct relationship between energy consumption and travel distance. The prototype met predicted performance requirements, as evidenced by its overall mean score of 4.44 and descriptive rating of "Very Good" for functionality, workability, durability, safety, aesthetics, and economy. It is advised that seat foam and backrests be added for passenger comfort, transparent side covers be added for weather protection, a protective cover be installed beneath the dashboard to hide wiring and increase safety, and lighter structural materials be taken into consideration in place of heavy tubular steel to reduce weight and improve
