The project study, Student Health Information Management System for Valenzuela
National High School, aims to digitalize and upgrade the method of collecting students’
medical data. Also, the clinical administrator to be able to manage the students’ health
records efficiently. The system is capable of acquiring data, managing and organizing the
database, updating and modifying the records, and sending students’ data to the respective
faculty member. It includes significant features such as IR temperature sensor for collecting
students’ body temperature, calculated Body Mass Index (BMI) derived from the collected
height and body weight, and heartbeat oximeter to acquire the student’s pulse rate. The
project study provides both software and hardware systems that will be accessible in the
clinic of the school. The software was created with Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) and
JavaScript, as well as open-source web application technologies namely HTML (Hypertext
Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) for web pages designing. The system
was tested for its efficiency and compatibility in terms of functionality, accuracy, and
performance. The system was evaluated forits acceptability using an evaluation instrument
based on ISO 25010 software quality criteria. The mean score obtained is 4.41, with a
descriptive rating of "Very Acceptable". There were 25 evaluators from the Valenzuela
National High School, which included the faculty members, senior high school students,
and clinic administrator. This shows that the system is effective for managing health
information inside the premises for all key users.
