Asset management continues to be one of the primary concerns of organizations. As a result, asset management efficiency and optimal utilization have been affected negatively. Likewise, there is a scarcity of technology management frameworks that build on radio-frequency identification for movable asset management in organizations. This study aims to develop a technology management framework of movable assets using radio frequency identification technology and systems This study developed the technology management framework through an extensive literature review and interviews with experts and end users. The study employed a mixed-method research design in developing the framework through respondents' evaluation and experts' review. Results show that Internal and external factors, technology, policy, and government-related factors constitute the technology management framework. The evaluation revealed that the proposed system using RFID is more efficient than the existing movable asset management system. The proposed system appears to be very effective in terms of a) control, b) inventory, and c) time management. Respondents' perceptions of the effectiveness of the proposed system when grouped according to years of experience show no significant difference in control, inventory, and time management. The technology management framework for R FI D-based movable asset management system appears acceptable to the respondents of the study and end-users as a comprehensive framework integrating other components or constructs to enhance the applicability of the system for future or emerging technologies- author's abstract.
