The purpose of the study, the development of ball launcher for basketball training is to offer an improvement in shooting and to lessen the effort when performing a basketball shooting practice especially when a player is practice alone. In basketball, the ball usually goes far when missing a shot so the players would need to catch or run to pick up the ball. By using this prototype, the ball returns to the player automatically due to the mechanism of the prototype. The launching mechanism of the prototype mainly consists of DC motors that are one of the key factors in launching the ball towards the player. This prototype would not only improve the player in terms of shooting but also with his reaction time and shooting precision. The prototype underwent testing where successful launches were recorded from all angles within specified time and distance parameters. The time intervals of each ball's launch and the number of successful and failed shots were documented during the testing. These tests were conducted in two trials. The test results demonstrated that the prototype effectively launched balls within the predetermined time and distance constraints. The prototype aims to improve the player's focus on shooting basketball and reduce the time and energy spent picking the basketball. The prototype was evaluated by 30 evaluators composed of student athletes, professors, student, and professionals from inside and outside of the campus. It is rated a 4.66 overall mean with a descriptive rating of “Excellent”. This signifies that the prototype was functional and achieved its purpose.
