The "Development of an Autonomous Disinfecting and Humidifying Machine" addresses the need for automated hospital sanitation. Manual cleaning is time-consuming, unreliable, and increases contamination risks. This research developed a robotic system that disinfects and humidifies hospital rooms, ensuring consistent hygiene and air quality. The robot features navigational sensors, bumper sensors, and microwave radar proximity sensors for precise movement and collision avoidance. Its disinfection system uses a quaternary ammonium compound dispersed through a fine mist, effectively sterilizing surfaces and air. Additionally, ultrasonic atomization maintains ideal humidity levels. Constructed from Styrofoam and ABS plastic, the prototype operates on an 8.2V (3S2P) Lithium-ion battery. It holds 1 liter of disinfectant and 500mL of humidifier liquid, making it suitable for extended use. The prototype was presented to 30 evaluators using the Technological University of the Philippines assessment criteria: functionality, aesthetics, workability, durability, economy, safety, and salability. It received a mean score of 4.05, categorized as “very good.” This conclude that the machine successfully sanitizes and humidifies hospital environments, contributing to improved hygiene and air quality.
