While the main practice of sorting balut and non-balut up to this day is manually done, it is efficient mostly to experienced and large-scale duck eggs sorting facilities. Even with the intent and plan to start a business related to the balut sorting profession, it is a necessity to be knowledgeable of the variables and be efficient in it as well. The existing method of sorting balut from non-balut does not cater to small, micro farms and businesses, especially those who are new to the field or those without prior knowledge. The project's primary goal is to give small, private balut farmers a sorting system that integrates with an inventory monitoring app. The system will cut down on sorting time, staffing requirements, and increase the capacity to produce more incubated deoxygenated eggs. The image dataset used to train the prototype contains that of balut and non-balut: tuyot and higop na penoy. The study introduces an IoT-based balut sorting machine utilizing advanced image processing to classify duck eggs based on their light absorption properties, aiming to improve quality control and reduce manual labor for small and micro enterprises. The system integrates hardware like an Arduino Mega 2560, Raspberry Pi, web camera, and stepper motor for precise sorting, while IoT connectivity allows remote monitoring and control via a mobile application. Functional tests confirmed the system's efficiency, earning an overall mean of 4.58/5.00 which has the description ratio of “Highly Acceptable” for its user-friendly design, operational reliability, and safety features, making it a valuable tool for modernizing balut production.
