This study aims to innovate the use of solar energy to power an alkaline filtration system for deep well for the people from far-flung areas who are in need of potable and safe water yet be reached by the civilization. The Solar Powered Filtration System for Deep Well was designed featuring a solar panel to produce energy and a battery to store electrical energy, a motor pump and water tank to draw out enough water from the deep well for reservoir, and a filtration system to secure safe water free of contaminants. It was developed and fabricated using the local available materials including the solar panel, battery, motor-water pump, water tank, and alkaline water filter together with metal sheets, automatic pressure switch, tubes, and wires. Similarly, it was tested for functionality and reliability in terms of energy supply using the solar panel with 250V, motor capacity for water pumping with 1 HP, and water pH level with 9.18 pH using the alkaline water filter. Lastly, the prototype was evaluated using a modified questionnaire with the 30 different evaluators to determine the acceptability of the prototype in terms of functionality, aesthetic design, durability, workability, economy, and safety and were given the general weighted average mean of 4.43 and interpreted as Very Acceptable. Furthermore, it is suggested to add a two or more solar panels to prolong the service of the prototype with ample amount of energy. The community can also jointly work to device one same prototype for their community.
