This study aimed to develop a semi-automatic multi-shearing machine that
would enhance the efficiency, time effectiveness, and safety of cutting metal bars.
The objectives focused on designing a machine with efficient and accurate cutting
capabilities, capable of handling a range of metal sizes and types, and ensuring user
safety and ease of use. The fabrication of the machine utilized high-quality materials,
and the prototype successfully demonstrated its functionality in cutting flat bars,
round bars, and square bars of various thicknesses. The evaluation of the prototype
yielded a high level of acceptability, indicating satisfaction with its durability,
functionality, aesthetics, workability, efficiency, ergonomics, and safety. The
acceptability of development of semi-automatic multi-shearing machine in terms of
functionality 4.43, aesthetics 4.39, workability 4.56, durability 4.41, safety 4.50,
efficiency 4.62, and ergonomics 4.59, overall garnered 4.50 with descriptive rate
“Very Acceptable” on the gathered data from respondents by using the survey form.
The comparison between metal hand saw, oxy-acetylene, and the prototype is based
on cutting 2mm, 3mm, and 6mm flat bar and 3mm, 6mm, 9mm round bar and square
bar, the testing procedures with the comparison of cutting speed capacity and cutting
accuracy were tested and proved that this prototype's work is accurate.
