The study, Development of Price Item Calculator Using Barcode Technology, aims to help senior citizen, person with disability and price conscious consumer in terms of shopping and budgeting. They encounter problems such as a malfunctioning price verifier and products that do not have tag prices. These situational factors affect the buyer's time management and their budgeting schemes that leads to price miscalculation. The price item calculator is capable of checking and calculating the total price of the items bought by the consumer. The total price can be classified into two: the discounted price for persons with disabilities and senior citizen, and the original price for ordinary consumers. The Raspberry Pi with its program written in Python language serves as controller of the hardware connected to it and it also serves as processor of the scanned items. The database which consists of the item price and description can be updated through flash disk drive. The project was evaluated by 25 evaluators consisting of sari-sari stores owners, senior citizens, ordinary consumer and those who are knowledgeable in electronics and information technology inside and outside the TUP-Manila campus and garnered a rated overall mean score of 4.19 with a descriptive rating of "VERY ACCEPTABLE". This proves that the price item calculator is a helpful innovation for the consumers in knowing the price due of the grocery items that they will buy before paying at the cashier.
