This study, Development of Automatic Lighting and Ventilation Controlled System, aims

to help the students and faculty members of Technological University of the Philippines-
Quezon Extension Campus to avoid over usage of ceiling fans and lights by forgotten to

switch off the switches in the classroom when leaving the room. It has a features like limit
switch which trigger to the Arduino and the Arduino sending to the switches to trigger
switch on, and when the Passive Infrared Sensor didn’t sense a human presence even the
doors are open the fans are switch off ,the sensitivity range of Passive infrared sensor is
10m from the sensor. The system was developed with the temperature sensor whose sense
the temperature of environment which programmed to the Arduino which the Arduino
trigger to the ceiling fan for the speed and the sensitivity range of temperature sensor if low
temperature is 20 degree Celsius which is number 1 in the manual switch of ceiling fan and
the high temperature is 27 degree Celsius and in the manual switch of ceiling fan it is 5.Test
results showed that the device is functioned as a designed .The device was evaluated by 30
evaluators composed of fourth year students, first year students, professors, and Master
Electrician under the Technological University of the Philippines-Quezon Extension
Campus and it was rated with an overall mean of 4.39 with a descriptive rating of “Very
Good”. This signifies that the device is useful to all students and faculty members in terms
of utilizing classrooms.
