The study, Development of Motorized Form Bender, aims to develop a motorized form
bender. This machine is used to bend three kinds of metal flat bar, round bar, and square
bar into a circular shape. The size of the motorized form bender is movable compared to
other bending machines. And it is easy to carry and use at any time and any place. It eases
human effort and does not require skilled workers to operate the machine. We are
developing a motorized form bender with the use of a gear motor, bearing, sprocket, and
chain to support the gear motor. This motorized form bender works forward and reverse
motion. This motorized form bender can bend up to 15mm. Due to its lightweight and the
fact that it is easy to carry it can be used at small workshops, welding shops, fabrication
shops, etc. A bending machine is a common machine in a machine shop that is used to bend
metal. The test result showed that our prototype is capable of shaping and curving
according to its design, researchers also tested if the gear motor will last until the operation
is finished. The motorized form bender was evaluated by 20 evaluators composed of
faculty member, welding fabricator and machine shop workers. The motorized form bender
was rated with an overall mean of 4.48 with a descriptive rating of “Very Acceptable”.
This signifies that our prototype is useful to all workers and faculty members.
