Buli, also known as buri, is a giant palm tree native to the Philippines that serves various purposes. Manually extracting Buli fiber may take a long time to finish, and it needs human force to achieve the perfect output. This project research, entitled "Development of Buntal Fiber Extraction Machine," was conducted to fabricate a fiber extractor machine designed especially for extracting fiber from Buli petioles. This research aims to make the Buli petiole fiber extraction much faster and produce many fibers quickly. Moreover, the developed project prototype is intended to help buntal fiber farmers, and other fiber farmers make it easier to extract fiber from Buli petioles and to promote the production rate of Buli fiber products and the excellent quality and durability of our local products that are made from Buli fiber. The buntal fiber extraction machine is another type of fiber extraction machine that extracts fiber from the buntal or petioles of buri or buli. Unlike the traditional manual extraction method, it is designed to make extraction more accessible and increase productivity. The project prototype has a 2 HP electrically powered motor, which is used to make the pulley, belt, and stripping drum rotates. At the same time, the results of the conducted project prototype evaluation from the different respondents in terms of functionality, aesthetics, workability, efficiency, economy, and safety were mostly given Excellent and Very Acceptable. It is concluded that the performance and design of this project prototype greatly help extract fiber from Buli petioles in an easy and time-saving way.
