The increasing awareness of environmental impact and health risks associated with conventional chemical-based cleaning agents, there is a demand for natural alternatives. This approach offers students hands-on experience with sustainable practices, allowing them to understand the benefits of it. The main objective of this designed based embedded mixed method is to assess the effectiveness and practicality of using Lime Peels (Citrus aurantiifolia) and Gumamela Flowers (Hibiscus rosa-sinens) as a natural alternative for dishwashing liquid, this includes evaluating the cleaning efficiency, antibacterial properties, and ability to cut grease compared to conventional dishwashing liquid. This study collected data through laboratory testing that revealed the effectiveness of alternative dishwashing liquid, additional data were gathered from FSM students interview and survey regarding their preference, assessing the aspect in ease of preparation, and perceived environmental benefits. The analysis revealed that FSM students are willing to switch to alternative natural ingredients rather than using conventional dishwashing liquids. The findings suggest the utilization of Lime peels and Gumamela flowers as an alternative dishwashing liquid. Furthermore, it potentially inspires further research into natural cleaning alternatives.
